Live Like Jesus Love Like Jesus
This is at the top of this website and all social media platforms. It's catchy. It's easy to remember. It's simple. But how often do we neglect to follow this simple logic? Logic of the mind and, more importantly, the heart. Have you ever been cut off in traffic? %@#!$ I bet you didn't live and love like Jesus. Had a co-worker with different beliefs or views? Not so easy to live and love like Jesus then.
I wanted to put the motto on a shirt. I explained to someone that the "live like Jesus" part was more of me and my values, what I believe on the inside. And the "love like Jesus" is the outward expression of that and how we treat those around us. Both are equally important and go hand in hand. They are a reflection of each other and neither can be neglected.
This world is never going to be perfect. People aren't perfect. It's the fallen world we live in. But I've learned over the years that more than likely we can find something in common with those around us. A friend of mine has very different political views and can be outspoken about it. But we both enjoy watching crime shows like SVU and Cold Justice. We found common ground and love and respect each other because it's what Jesus taught us.
Sometimes we may be the only Jesus someone sees. I was raised in church but not everyone was. Some people come from rough places and would never step foot in a church. But they see you. They see how you treat others. They hear what you say when you're having a bad day. They see how you act when someone makes a mistake. Be a reflection of the love that's been given to you. Forgive, be kind, share a snack, share a smile. You never know what someone may be going through. You may be an answer to someone's silent plea for help.
It's simple really...
Live like Jesus and love like Jesus.
